You don't get anymore historical St. Johnsbury than the Atheneum. You need to pop in just to see the architecture and the art gallery -- oh yeah and the book ;)
An extraordinary architectural time piece well worth going out of your way to visit.
My dad and I went here in 1995 when I graduated from St J Academy. My dad found a reference to a historical person that relates to us. My dad must have known more about family history than he lead on. There could be some information I need to find out more about. I had relatives who lived in Vermont in the 1800s. I am interested in finding out about also..I will update when I find more. I hope to return when the weather warms up and check out more books at the Anthaneum.
